'Carrier Bags' is a sculptured piece consisting of numerous individually constructed bags. These bags when installed together will create a patchwork of images.

'Carrier Bags' is concerned with the notion of making a load. The load could be physical or emotional. The materials used in the piece convey a sense of weight or weightlessness. 'Carrier Bags' was prompted by memories of my grandfather who was a miner and spent most of the daylight hours underground carrying coal on his back. |

'Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.' St Matthew .
This piece of work was started in Scotland and completed in Oronsko, Poland. The work was re-formed by the influences of the Polish culture, its religion and way of life, and by the materials found here. I hope the two successfully merge together.
